Adler Planetarium was founded in 1930 by Chicago business leader, Max Adler. The planetarium was the first public museum in the U.S. dedicated to the study of astronomy and astrophysics. Adler Planetarium is part of Museum Campus, located at the northeast tip of Chicago's Northerly Island. Nearby are the John G. Shedd Aquarium and The Field Museum.
