Visit the home of one of the richest and most powerful families in Galveston during the Gilded Age. Moody Mansion is the former home of the Moodys – a great American financial empire that was built on cotton, banking, ranching, insurance, and hotels. The 28,000 square-foot, four-story mansion was completed in 1895, and served as a home for the family for over 80 years. Today, the home is open to the public and offers weekday tours. The furnishings are all original to the family and to the house.
