The Straz Center is located in downtown Tampa along the Hillsborough River. The venue opened in July 1987, and is the second largest performing arts complex in the Southeast. It has a leading Broadway series and produces grand opera, as well as presenting a variety of concerts, musicals, plays, performances, and events. The performing arts complex consists of the Carol Morsani Hall, Ferguson Hall, Jaeb Theater, TECO Energy Foundation Theater, Shimberg Playhouse, a rehearsal hall, retail shops, on-site restaurants, and event spaces.
