The United Palace opened in 1930 as a vaudeville house and deluxe movie theatre. In 1969, the property was purchased by Rev. Ike to host his congregation, the United Palace House of Inspiration (UPHI). Today, the Palace continues to be used as a church, in addition to serving as home to the United Palace of Cultural Arts (UPCA), an independent, nonprofit arts and cultural group who hosts dozens of concerts and events each year.
