NJ Transit Rail Service could be subject to a shutdown starting March 13, 2016.
But, there are alternate ways to get to New York City.

Park-Ride Service to NYC:

NJ Transit will offer Park-Ride Service at Ramsey/Route 17 Rail Station on a first come, first served basis during 6AM-10AM (inbound) and 4PM-8PM (outbound) peak periods. SP+ offers parking at the Ramsey/Route 17 Rail Station.

 

NY Waterway Ferry Service to NYC:

NY Waterway will continue to operate in the event of a NJ Transit Rail Strike. SP+ offers parking at the following Ferry locations:

 •   Port Imperial Ferry which connects to three NYC locations - World Financial Center, South Street Seaport (Pier 11) and Javits Convention Center (Pier 79).  The NYC Subway 7 Line is also accessible at Javits.

 •   Liberty Harbor Ferry Terminal which connects to Pier 11 at the South Street Seaport.  The NYC Subway A, C, 2, 3, J, Z lines are accessible at Fulton St.

 

NJ PATH Service to NYC:

NJ PATH trains will continue to operate in the event of a NJ Transit Rail Strike. SP+ offers parking for the following Train Stations:

 •   Newport Path Station: Newark-World Trade Center (Red Line) and Journal Square-33rd Street (Yellow Line)

 •   Hoboken Train Station: Hoboken - 33rd Street (Blue Line) and Hoboken-World Trade Center lines (Green Line)

 •   Newark Penn Station: Newark-World Trade Center (Red Line) with connections to Journal Square-33rd Street (Yellow Line)

 

Driving to NYC:

You may choose to drive to New York City using the following Bridges and Tunnels. SP+ offers convenient NYC parking nearby:

 •   George Washington Bridge NY Side: access NYC Subway A, 1 lines at 181st St. & A line at 175th St.

 •   Holland Tunnel NY Side: access NYC Subway 1, 2 lines at Canal St. & A, C, E lines at Spring St.

 •   Lincoln Tunnel NY Side: access NYC Subway 1, 2, 3, S, &, N, Q, R lines at Times Square.
