The Old Orange County Courthouse is South California's oldest court building, and original home of the Orange County government. Today, the building has been restored to look much as it had at the turn of the last century. The building serves as home to the Orange County History Center (which includes the Old Courthouse Museum, Orange County Archives, and library of the Pacific Coast Archaeological Society) as well as government offices. The courthouse also features an exhibition gallery which displays both temporary and permanent exhibits relating to local and regional history. Through the years, the courthouse has been filmed in numerous movies and television shows including "J. Edgar" and "American Horror Story - Asylum."
