The Charles River Esplanade is a state-owned park located along the banks of the Charles River. The area extends for over three miles from the Boston Museum of Science to Boston University Bridge. Within the park are pedestrian paths, the Hatch Memorial Shell performance stage, playgrounds, ballfield, and Community Boating – the oldest community sailing program in the country.

No parking is allowed at the park. However, there are plenty of excellent parking options offered by Parking.com garages in nearby Back Bay neighborhood, within a short walking distance from the park.
