The Paramount Mainstage is a thrilling sample of American cinema's Golden Age. The theatre opened in 1932 as a single-screen movie theatre, and was one of the first movie houses in Boston to play talking motion pictures. Emerson College purchased the building in 2005, and has enchantingly restored the theatre to its original glory. Now a venue of the school's ArtsEmerson program, Paramount features two theatres – the Jackie Liebergott Black Box "The Jackie" and Bright Family Screening Room, used for performances and screenings.
