The Fox Theater - Oakland is a concert hall located in Downtown Oakland. The theater originally opened in 1928, and served as a movie theater until 1970. The theater was restored in the 2000s and reopened as a concert venue in 2009. Much of the original design remains, including the theater's rich colors, intricate gold accents, and distinctive dome. Today, the theater is used for hosting concerts and special events, and is home of the Oakland School for the Arts.
