The Capitol Theatre is a historic landmark in downtown Salt Lake City that opened in 1913. The theatre served as a venue for vaudeville, silent movies, and "talkies" for many years. In 1978, the theatre was renovated and reopened as a performance venue, and currently serves as home for Ballet West, Utah Opera, Children's Dance Theatre, and Broadway Across America-Utah. The Capitol also hosts a variety of local and national tour performances.
